The monthly day of community service, umuganda, was re-interpreted into an active community mural making day at Kimisagara. This mural was created in celebration of Umunsiw’intwali (Rwandan Hero’s Day), a day dedicated to honouring and commemorating brave Rwandans who have stood for the unity of Rwanda. The mural addresses young Rwandans, with the message encouraging youth to stay in school, avoid drugs and protect their health. This mural brings to life the streets of Kimisagara with an important themes of bravery, courage and heroism.
